他做出天籁般的《天鹅》，也可以写出《死之舞》这样的异类作品
圣桑继《动物狂欢节》后最为世人熟知的名曲就是这首《骷髅之舞》。该作完成于1874年，1875年在巴黎首次上演，是作者所作的四部交响诗中最负盛名的作品。乐曲是根据法国诗人亨利· 扎里斯的一首奇怪的诗写成。旋律采用了中世纪末日审判的圣咏《愤怒的日子》之曲调，深刻而生动地描绘了死神降临墓地里为一群骷髅拉小提琴的“派对”场景。 现在资源最多的是吉他和弦乐演奏版。小提琴激昂快速，吉他节奏紧密，听似欢快的舞曲，却也掺着些诡异怪诞的气息。想感受作品全貌，最好找到交响乐版的CD

《Fragile》是一首政治意味的歌曲，歌词前的说明中明确写着此曲写给民主自由斗士和马克思主义者，极富悲剧感 ，曲名意即易碎的。歌中大段的木吉它在曲中成为与人声相和的第二声部，Sting的演奏淡雅而又朴素，很得古典吉它之神韵。Sting的平淡吐字与全曲基调完美吻合，让人叫绝。此曲已经成为Sting的名作，常常为Sting乐迷们津津乐道。 2001年9月11日，Sing还特别把“Fragile”这首悲悯人性脆弱的歌曲献给911恐怖事件的罹难者。
现在播放的是获得格莱梅奖项的版本。87 年的《Fragile》的旋律更为简单，没有太多的渲染，却也能引人入胜。
